Judy Garland as Patsy Barton in 'Babes on Broadway' Designed by Dolly Tree (Possibly)

Description

Off-white satin tail-coat ensemble, off-white satin tail coat solidly trimmed at lapel with rhinestones and trimmed at bodice and sleeve with rhinestones, attached starched cuff; cream file vest with rhinestone buttons; satin and tulle dickey; starched collar; cream satin slacks with rhinestone stripes and matching cream satin top hat with rhinestone band. The jacket and vest have METRO-GOLDWYN MAYER labels which read [J. GARLAND 8237]. Additional Notes

The costume is a matching costume to the one that Mickey Rooney wears in the musical number in "Robert E. Lee." This tux was probably replaced by the off white satin dress that Garland actually wears in the musical number. Need to check the production files at Academy to see if a costume text photo was made of the tuxedo.
