Additional Notes

John Truscott received the academy award for Best Costume Design for this film.

The costumes for the film “Camelot” were not actual representations of a particular period in history since the legend of the actual characters themselves, is somewhat of a fantasy also. They were over the top and if nothing else can be said about them, the women’s gowns usually took up a lot of space. They have often been criticized because of the influence in fashion and style of the period it was made in the 1960’s, but that is often the case in designing film costumes.

But, when one sees the actual costumes, they can’t help but be impressed by the textures and details that went into making them, especially realizing that everything that was worn was made especially for this one film.
