The ensemble consists of a green silk crêpe halter-style dress, fully boned bodice; matching bolero jacket lined with green silk, jacket and bodice heavily embroidered with small gold beads and sequins in a floral motif, skirt is ornamented with gold beaded looped tassels. June Allyson, the eternally wholesome girlfriend, plays a night club singer and the niece and heir of a murdered man. When she arrives in New York City, she finds herself involved in a creepy comedy Park Avenue mystery and a romance with Van Johnson.

Helen Rose was hired in 1943 after the departure of Gilbert Adrian and was later promoted to chief designer until her departure in the 1960’s. She excelled in defining the fashion of the 1950’s and designed the famous wedding dress of Grace Kelly when she married Prince Rainier in 1956.
