Additional Notes

Ann-Margret, a Swedish American singer and dancer was a stunning actress who always seemed to bounce back and forth from a sweet all-American to the sex kitten. In this historical comedy, which is a spoof of any number of Foreign Legion desert pictures, she plays the adoptive mother of “identical twins” Michael York and Marty Feldman using her wiles and sexuality to search out the stolen family sapphire.

May Routh created colorful period costumes for the satirical comedic romp through the desert. Ms. Routh gave some insight on how costumes are designed. The turquoise gown was created because she discovered just over a yard of the eye-lash fabric and knew she wanted to use it because of its color and texture. The entire ensemble was created around that piece of fabric.
