Additional Notes

Eileen Brennan got her start as a regular on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In” series in the 1960 and went on to become a highly respectable and award winning actress on TV, stage and films such as “The Last Picture Show,” “The Sting” and “Private Benjamin.” Her career was curtailed in 1982, when she was struck by an automobile causing severe injuries. She was an extremely versatile actress who excelled in both dramatic and comedic roles. Her “world-weary acting style” was perfect for the role of Mrs. Peacock in “Clue,” the comedic murder mystery where dinner guests find themselves tangled in a web of murders of fellow guests. The film was shot with three different endings, all of which have appeared on screen.

Costume designer Michael Kaplan, who has gained recognition in such films as “Blade Runner,” “Star Trek,” Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and “Fight Club,” wanted to convey costumes in this films that epitomized the zany nervous personality of the character. The two dresses are an example of using multiple matching costumes when the action of the film calls for it to be damaged or destroyed.
