Composite Scottish Highland costume, red and black plaid wool kilt heavily pleated at back and ornamented at pleats and across hip area with gold bullion ribbon, ornamented on some horizontal stripes at front with bands of horsehair ribbon, attached at waist with small leather belting that has cracked and is broken (Western Costume Co. label reads "55-2521-5" "D" Piper, Lindsay, Waist 38 and stamped "W.C.Co." and "86"); golden/rust shirt with shirt collar, extremely full long sleeves gathered at shoulder and cuff, one button closure at cuff (MGM label inscribed "Bob Cole 1645,") (Western Costume Co. label inscribed "55-2908-5 "A" Dancer Napier"),(Second Western Costume Co. label which faintly reads "George Weller"?),(Western Costume Co. stamp); matching orange, black, green and tan breacan feile [upper body fabric draping] ornamented with black horsehair, gold bullion ribbon, small black bugle and rocaille beads, attached with large circular gun metal brooch ornamented with foliate and thistle design and large pin back; tan kid skin collarless vest, front closure with four brown starburst buttons, two lower flap pockets with four brown etched buttons, large "eye" [hook & eye] is attached at left shoulder and small ring is attached to upper left chest (Western Costume Co. label typed "55-2517-4 V, "B" DANCER. Chest 41, Pipe, Douglas") and is stamped ("W .C. Co," Stamped "#56"); brown suede sporran (leather pouch/purse) with leather straps, small silver buckle, ornamented with five braided brown suede tassels. gunmetal ornamentation at top with foliate and thistle motif, (The strapping is hand inscribed "..adsay"," 38, D Piper"); slate grey velvet tam hat ornamented with pale grey faille ribbon and sprigs of faux lily of the valley (Western Costume label inscribed "Piper #1"," Buchanan Family"; pair of white and raspberry colored argyle prop knee length stockings (new stockings should be found with correct color red).
