Prop Guns from unknown film

Description

[453.1] Three Prop Charleville Pistols from unknown Universal production. A pair of prop model 1777 Charleville Pistols constructed with a one-piece mahogany grip with satin finish and brass frame. The barrel is a .69 caliber, white, 7 ½” tapered round, smoothbore. Ignition is a flintlock, single shot and features a brass trigger guard and butt cap and white steel tapered ramrod and belt hook. The guns are numbered and engraved “Charleville” and measure 13 ½” long. The guns were originally purchased from an armory auction held by Butterfield & Butterfield in the 1980’s and the original auctions tags are attached. [453.2] Prop 18th century classic pirate Blunderbuss Flintlock Rifle with brass and steel fitting, flared at the muzzle with engraving on the top and on a walnut base. Engraved on the bass fitting on the butt of the gun “N20A -1955” and measures 24” long. Similar guns are seen in film “The Loves of Carmen. The guns were popular from around 1788- 1816.
