Acquisition Notes John LeBold and Bill Thomas worked with Debbie Reynolds and no doubt removed the arm bands from the hanger holding the original costume. No test photos have been found of Monroe wearing the bands but I did see the original gown and the details (sequined balls) were on the gown. I dressed the costume for an exhibition at FIDM and the beadwork and the dangles did match the ones on the dress. The arm bands were probably cut because of the bulk of the bands. The arm bands were originally hanging on the hanger with the original costume and are made from the same materials that appear on the costume.
