James Dean Personal Boots

Pair of black leather motorcycle style boots with smooth leather body and crinkled leather with pull straps. The boots have a new heel that apparently has not been worn that much. The boots have no manufacturing label or sizing inside which may indicate they were custom-made.

Personal Wardrobe

The boots belonged to Bill Thomas and were always one of his prize possessions. He purchased them in New York around his action in 1984. Bill told me that they were acquired from one of Mr. Dean's assistants who and taken them in to get a new heel on them"," but never returned them to Dean. They may have been from the time period that Dean spent in New York.
